The Center for Biomarker Research
Blood-based biomarkers are emerging as one of medicine’s significant clinical research tools. The Center for Biomarker Research was established to expand knowledge of the analysis and application of biomarkers in the practice of medicine.
Through sponsorship of and participation in educational activities and forums, contributions to public policy discussions and serving as a resource for biomarker research, we hope to raise awareness of advancements in this emerging field.

The levels of soluble adhesion molecules in diabetic and nondiabetic patients with combined hyperlipoproteinemia and the effect of ciprofibrate therapy
Author: Okapcova J, Gabor D
Category: Metabolic
Subcategory: Diabetes
Cell adhesion molecules are thought to play a role in atherosclerosis. Several clinical trials have shown that fibrate treatment leads to a reduction in coronary events, although the mechanisms are not fully understood.
